The snowy Yuletide season is upon us once again, and today's post features a uniquely American take on a supposedly European tradition... I speak, of course, of the bumpy green Weinachtsgurke, or Christmas Pickle!

The tradition is such that the green ornament is hung surreptitiously in the leafy boughs of your Christmas tree, and the first reveler to reveal it wins a special prize or good luck for the coming year.
However, dear reader, it appears this is an American invention, as the Wikipedia page for Christmas Pickle helpfully points out.
Regardless of realism, creating a silly pickle ornament was a fun way to start the season. As for sizing, I believe my pickle to be more of a gherkin, but love it all the same!
Blessed Yule to you and yours from all of us here at Larkraft.
